STACY PROGRAMS

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single minute before starting to improve the world.” – Anne Frank

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Annual scholarships awarded to students that exemplify the values STACY promotes. Through academics, character traits, community service and other extracurricular activities, student applicants must demonstrate the following values: respect, resilience, integrity, leadership, teamwork, community involvement and pride. This program aims to provide financial assistance to students so they can further their education, gain experience and motivation to serve our community as advocates for people with disabilities and their families.

SIBLING LEADERSHIP AND SUPPORT PROGRAM

Regularly planned meetings offering leadership skills, a variety of facilitated discussion topics and a safe place for open discourse between siblings of individuals with special needs. We believe the focus on siblings is important since research shows that a sibling is most likely to become the primary caregiver of an individual with disabilities once a parent no longer is able. This program will address many challenges siblings encounter and prepare them to be exemplary advocates for their siblings in the future.

VOLUNTEER COLLABORATIVE

A collaborative group of community members who enjoy volunteering to assist causes related to advancing the quality of life for individuals with special needs. A systematic organization of a local volunteer force that provides numerous volunteers for local events promoting causes consistent with STACY values. By partnering with other organizations and volunteering at multiple events, we are able to compound and diversify the difference we make in our community.

EVENTS

Locally planned and organized community events that support our mission and goals. These events may be educational, social, or fundraisers and may be united efforts with other organizations. Events in the past included attending the Sacramento Rivercats' Nonprofit Night, crab feed charity dinners promoting similar causes and organizing a private winter social at a local restaurant. We welcome the opportunity to partner with other nonprofit organizations and businesses to plan an exciting event for our community.
